Default Odometer repair shop besides North Hoollywood Speedo?

I live in Arlington, VA. i assume I will be able to pull out my speedo unit and carry to a repair shop, if there was one locally. Prefer not to wiat weeks to get on North Hollywood or any other shop waiting list, or weeks to get it back once it is there at the repair place. Anyone have recommendastions for a local shop, or failing that one that may not be as backed as North hollywood?
Conversely, if this is the only place to go to be sure of the work, I guess I can live with it.

What's the problem...If it's your odometer gear, that's a simple DIY...If you can get the speedo out, you can fix it. Just a suggestion.

I know of Palo Alto. About as far away from Arlington as North Hollywood. But yes, they are good. To Terry - I am just not confident enough with these small jobs (or big ones for that matter). Murphy always strikes. I gave up DIY when I sold my 64 Alfa Spider - at least that car was simple to work on. But I would still like a speedo shop in NVa if anyone knows of a good one.

Both Palo Alto and N. Holleywood were recommended to me. I had N. Hollywood fix a Smith gauge and they were great to deal with! Fixed as they said they would in 1 week and price was what they quoted.

Charlie,
I wish I knew of a MD/DC/VA-based shop as well...

I've used PA to repair one 964/993 clock and was pleased with the work. On the other hand, I've had NHS repair more than 100, 964/993 clocks for me over the last four years. No complaints.

Default NH Speedometer

I just used North Hollywood 2 weeks ago from Canada. Their work was great and the turn around was about 1 week. price was good too.

so two things. I went with NH becasue they were as responsive as Pal;o Alto and $40 cheaper. I get the unit back Thursday and I sent it to them Monday. Can't do much better. Second thing is the best way to get the speedo unit out of the dash. TAKE THE SMALLER CLOCK OUT FIRST AND THEN REACH BEHIND THE SPEEDO TO PUSH IT OUT! Much easier. Charlie
