BTW: I spotted a beautiful woman driving a black C4 Cab w/ Maryland plates on 95. Anybody on here?
That should be your main topic... who cares about the gas

On the Hwy. if I drive like the typical Prius driver, I'll get 26mpg~. If driven normally 23mpg~. the commute back and forth to work which is 5 miles highway, 5 miles stop and go with "blast off" between stop signs nets me 13-14mpg like everyone else.

I do check my mileage. I find it interesting how little fuel these cars burn when driven hard on country roads. I took the 97 on a 1200mile trip around the province last weekend. My average for the entire weekend was 21MPG/US 25MPG imperial. We were most definitely not on an economy cruise (I may have even hit 6000RPM in 5th a few times!). Around town economy seems to be where the 993 burns the most fuel, particularly the Varioram cars, as I get about what everyone else gets. I don't use my car around town much as it feels like a caged animal.....not happy. For the slog in the city, I use something far better suited.......an F-150 4x4 with the 5.4 (10mpg).

My thoughts exactly...decent highway mileage but pretty thirsty in the city and not particularly entertaining to drive with all of the limitations. I think the car is best suited to highway romps IMHO.

The combination of the car's low weight, good drag co-efficient, and high gearing does make for good highway mileage.

Interesting responses all. I agree that the pretty lady in the cab should have been the main topic, but without a picture, you guys would haze me off the board Interesting that my 67 Buick (w 350-V8) gets better mileage than the pcar. So when I want to go for a spin, its a toss up.
Oh by the way, Andreas, if Cactus looked as good in drag as this woman, I would have had him in the bushes at the first rest stop and thought nothing of it lol!

14 to 15 around town, 25 at 70 to 75 on the highway. Steve Wong chip improved the mileage a bit. 10 or 12 if I leave it in second gear and I leave it in second gear a lot around town!
