Default Help me identify this oil drip/leak

I have had my engine tray off for 2 years now. For the first time the other day I noticed a couple of small drips of oil in my garage. This has continued after each drive I take. In the attached pic, I have located the source of the drip. It is just below the 3rd bolt where I am trying to point to (without burning my hand).

I am taking it to my mechanic first thing in the morning, but would like your thoughts as well.

Unlikely the case seal....is the oil running down the side of the block or localized there? Could be coming from the oil return tube, or base of the cylinder. Is the drain plug tight? Best way is to really clean the area, drive it and then check if you can see the path of the oil.

It appears to be localized where I am pointing, but I can't see behind it very well given my angle. Should be able to better see it tomorrow when it is up on lift. I didn't check the drain plug.

By the oily look of the engine tray bracket, it seems that you've had a leak for a while. As Mike said, must likely is coming from above where the drop sits, maybe the return tube or a through bolt from the cylinder above. Hopefully is the return tube as it is an easy fix. The cylinder through bolt is another story... Who are you taking it to?
