Default Looking for a 993 roller coupe

Hello my fellow 993 owners. I miss my 993 and can't get them out of my system. This will be my third, if I can make this project work.

I am looking for 95-98 coupe roller, less engine and transmission. Must be clean, straight and rust free inside and out with good paint. Preferably in white or midnight blue, no red unless deal is good enough to justify respray. I will strongly consider a widebody. The interior should be in good condition without any signs of water damage. Suspension can be tired since I will be replacing with coilovers. Just need a nice, clean coupe that is in need of an engine, transmission, brakes, etc.

MUST BE A COUPE with or without sunroof

Any extras such as coilovers, roll bar, and race seats would be an added bonus

There is a Turbo roller on eBay now, item # 220618667728 that meets some of your criteria.

I think it is or was a lister's car.

Thanks for the lead!
Salvage title and incomplete interior with a starting bid of $9900. What do you guys think? I was hopeful to find something cleaner with a clean title for half the price. Am I too optmistic?

IMHO, I think you are a bit optimistic, but if you are in no hurry, who knows. I was looking for a roller, or high mileage car with a bad engine, and had no luck.I figured it would run me 10-15K. I still might look for an S in need of work in the future, as I am presently building an engine.

Good luck with the search, and keep us posted.

Al:

I guess this is the time for me to chime in and say "I told you so". Good luck with the project.

Yes you did! I can't get away from the 993 and I am an interesting opportunity to get back into a fun project. Just need a nice roller so I can start having fun again!

When the next race?

Yeah I think ~5000 for a roller in the condition you seek is a dream. sounds more like you are looking for a $12K-$18K roller...

Jeez, an 18K roller? You can buy a 95 in decent running condition with high miles for maybe 22K.

I sound incredulous but that is probably the way the market works...

LAPD has a coupe roller theft recovery. They have been trying to get 6k for it for some time.
I would venture to bet they would take 5 for that.

Another option is to buy a car and part it out down to chassis. If done right, you could be into the chassis for next to nothing other then time.

CornerCarver,

Great to see you coming back to the 993 family. Your last white C2 was amazing in person.

I have to agree. I paid low twenties for a very nice example 3 years ago.
