Brake Flush Questions
Well I had a pretty soft pedal that needed pumping and who knows how old the fluid was so I decided to do a Brake flush.
I talked to some poeple and mostly everyone told me I will need 2-3L to do the flush.
This is how I did the flush.
Sucked out most of the fluid from the reservoir and cleaned out the white gunk on the bottom of the tank.
Filled the reservoir back up with Super blue and then started the flushing process.
I didnt have a power bleeder so I just used a friend pumping the pedal.
Started at the front drivers inner nipple went to the outer, Then the passenger front inner nipple to outer, Then the drivers Rear inner nipple to outer and lastly passenger rear inner nipple to outer and I pumped each nipple untill all I saw was Super Blue coming out.
All this took me just a bit less then 1L, I dont know why. Did the people That I talked to not know what they were talking about? Or did I do something wrong?
But now the problem is that the pedal is softer then it was and needs to be pumped even more to stop. What to do?

I flushed mine the other week and it took a little less than 1 container (1L) of SuperBlue. I did the wheels starting farthest from the reservoir and working back to closest ( pass rear, drv rear, pass frt, drv frt). I also bled the clutch while I was at it.

I've never used more than 1L to do a full flush. I usually start at the fartherst point from the resevoir (right rear) & work to the closest. I also always flush the clutch Slave at the same time.

You may have just broken every possible rule of brake bleeding that exists. lol.
1. don't empty your reservoir. ever. period. you got some air into a line since you did that.
2. buy a motive products power bleeder. if you plan to bleed brakes, you need this.
3. sequence is RR-LR-RF-LF. i.e. furthest from the reservior first, closest is last.
4. 1L total should do it. i.e. a quarter liter per corner.
5. blame your friend if it makes you feel better.

If you emptied the reservoir without cracking a bleed nipple/hydraulic fitting or depressed the brake pedal (as in even breathed on it), you wouldn't have introduced air into the system. But that's in a perfect world. So it sure sounds like air got introduced somehow, somewhere.

This is a link to "how to" on p-car.com
http://p-car.com/diy/flush.html
I think if you go through this you may move the air... if it does not work post a help thread, this is a great site and somebody will come to yor rescue

Just did this last week. Used the Motive power bleeder and went from farthest to nearest wheel/nipple.
Pedal felt great when I was done. Pedal was good before I started. Used less than a liter to do the flush. Did the clutch slave too.

Noticed your car has ABD, not to open a can of worms but if air is introduced into the ABS circut does he need to cycle the pump to remove it all after he gets it bled correctly?
My car is a lowly base model so I have never worried about this.
