Is it done yet?

This is the internet you know. Where's my instant gratification? It's been two days since your last update!

lol Sorry Tim, no change yet. I did get my GT3 steering wheel from mooty. Friday I'll start sanding and prepping the tail.

Made a little more progress this weekend, still kind of slow though between a wedding and chores.

Finished fitting the lid, got the the forward edge to clear the windshield area, gaps look good. Before any surface sanding though it is very important to get the tail cleaned of the mold release and grease. For this I used Comet and then TSP. Next was smoothing out a couple of ripples and some irregularities.

Next came fitting the grill which was pretty straightforward, there are indentation in the lid to show where to drill. Primed and painted the grill next so it's almost ready to go.

Then I started on the ducts for the front bumper and the rear bumperettes which will also be color matched. That's it for this weekend. More to come.

Latest update:

Tail is primed, final sanding today hopefully. Did I mention I was doing the front turbo bumper also, plus some misc. items to color match too. If all goes well, everything should be ready for painting by Sunday. Have talked to the painter and hope to shoot middle of next week.

Really take your time painting it. Make sure that it is shaped perfectly because they all need custom fitting. Porsche also used to provide a rubber bumper piece on each side of the engine bay opening (installs on the rain gutters midway down) that helps ease the pressure of the tail upon the body.

Thanks Tim. Totally frustrated right now, spent the entire day messing with my mower which wouldn't start. Going to have to probably shop for another one tomorrow. More time lost. I am so itching to get this tail and bumper painted.

Looks good Roger! You are ahead of me. I'm still sportin' the black tail. I did get my GT3-TEK RS sideskirts on. So now to paint the duck and the RS splitters....hopefully soon.
