Fuel injector test and clean
I figured that while the engine is apart, I should send the fuel injector rails out to be cleaned and tested. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where to send them.
Thanks,
Emerald

I've used http://www.witchhunter.com/
Pretty quick turn-around and replaced bad parts. Popular on Pelican. Pretty sure it improved performance on my 88 a bit.
Here is another place I've heard recommended http://www.rceng.com/index.aspx

I just sent my injectors out to RC Engineering. Mine were pretty darn dirty. Hopefully, it will make an improvement.
Question: What kind of lube is safe to put on the injectors when you put them back in? They are a pretty tight fit and i'm sure a little lubricant would make the job a lot easier, but I hate to put anything on there that might mess something up.
Thanks.

Been thinking about doing this, are there o-rings around the injectors (I sure there are) and do you get new o-rings back with the cleaned injectors? Any other parts need to be done for this task?

You guys east of the Mississippi might consider Marren Injection (http://www.injector.com/). Fast turn around, quicker shipping.
Rebuild includes cleaning, the inlet filter, o-rings, plastic caps, before vs after flow check.
There really is no such thing as 'blueprinting' injectors, the pieces that affect flow aren't serviceable. The tolerances for new parts are within the claimed 'blueprinted' range..

Given your Bosch injector part number, ask them at what pressure they flow test them at and what medium they use to measure the g/min or cc/min. Its not gasoline. Getting them all to flow equally doesn't mean squat.

I used witch hunter and they did a fine job. They do clean the paint off the injector body though so you'll need to hit them with some paint before reinstalling.
As for the injector performance, my 80k mile injectors were basically fine. Slightly odd spray pattern on 2 of them and slightly low flow on 2. They cleaned up fine.
I had it all apart so the $125 I paid seemed worth it.
