Porsche approved RS Speedline replicas - Who is interested?
Hello guys,
I am coming to you today to get a feel for a project I have in mind. The idea is to get a brand new set of exact replicas (size and offsets, 3-piece wheels) of the RS Speedline wheels but at a more reasonable price than what you get a set of real but used Speedlines for.
Believe it or not, to my knowledge, there is only one company that builds a true Porsche approved replica of the RS Speedlines. This company is Tramont wheels in France.
Fortunately, as some of you know, I am French, so it was easy for me to communicate with them. I got in contact with Mr. Tramont, the owner of the company. He confirmed that his company pays royalties to Porsche to make those wheels true to the original RS Speedlines. No messing up with the offsets or little details like the other "look alike" you can find around.
However, he also told me that he does not have a distributor in the US anymore... And he does not plan to have one anytime soon, because of some painful history on the US market; one former distributor left him a huge unpaid bill.
So, in order to get a set of Tramont wheels, I would have to buy them from Tramont and ship them from France to the US... clearly not worth it from a money standpoint.
But if I place an order for 12 sets of wheels, Tramont can give me a wholesale discount, and splitting the shipping cost between 12 sets makes it more reasonable. So, I punched some numbers in and this is what I came up with:
If I buy 12 sets, with the shipping, customs, insurance, etc... this would make a set of 4 Tramont wheels (18", 8" front, 10" back, same specs as RS Speedlines) at $3,500 arrived in Arkansas.
My question to you guys is how many of you would be interested in those for $3,500 + shipping from Van Buren, Arkansas?
The conditions would be to pay me in advance so I can place the order (I am not paying out of my pocket for 12 sets of wheels, I am not getting into a wheel distributor business). Once the order is placed, Tramont needs 4 weeks to process the order and I figure another month and a half for the wheels to get to Arkansas with all the possible delays (it will be maritime shipping...)
Don't send me any money at this time. If you are SERIOUSLY interested, just PM me. If I get enough people interested, this may happen. I need 10 people. One set will be for me and I already have one person interested in those too, ready to jump in.
Here is a picture of those wheels. They are known as the Tramont Cup.
The website for Tramont is: http://www.tramont.fr/EN/index.html
Looking forward to hearing from y'all

If I didn't just buy a new set of wheels I'd be all over these! They clear the Big Reds too, unlike the Kinesis replicas.
Good luck, I hope you find 10 more people!

Burning Brakes
Had tires swapped onto mine last week and requested they weigh the wheels naked.
Not massively heavy - but they are beautiful wheels. Best RS replica I've seen.
EDIT: Example:

Yes. That sounds like something that was berried in my memory. About 12.5kg.

But for mine (NB) I will go with the exact RS spec (FR: 8" ET 52 / RR: 10" ET 65)
