I put a set of DWS's on my car two years ago and the rears are still going strong, will get >30,000 miles out of them!

For daily driving these are the best tires I've had on this car.

Check out my avatar...they are fantastic in the snow!

I have to say, the PS AS+'s are noisy when over 80mph (whine), but only on the Carrera, not on the 944. Who knows.

However, if I lived in a more northern climate I would have true snows, for where I live these are outstanding tires.

As for the whine, either my hearing is bad or the exhaust is too loud because I don't hear it.

I feel for you in MN I lived Cleveland and drove my 911 year round. I purchased some old wheels and mount real snow tires in the winter on all 4 wheels. Worked great in snow and slush and as a plus your very expensive summer tires will last a year or two longer! I would look of 15" rims for the winter tires. With some investigation you may find that old 944 phone dials or another older inexpensive rim will fit your needs.

Hope this helps,
Andy

A set of the 5 spoke (8x17" et 55) early model year Boxster wheels work great for 993 winter wheels. Check the classified, actually me thinks there is a set on the PCA site.
