Thanks guys. And yes, the bugs did get washed off as soon as I got home. If you don't do it quickly its as if they were tack welded to the bodywork just like when you leave a soggy cornflake in the bowl and it dries out. Nightmare.....

Congrats, that's a real beauty. Love the road shots.

Is it worth installing a FD Golden Rod at the same time?
IMO, yes, definitely one of the best bang for the buck mods I've done.

Congratulations. I thought this was a beautiful car when I saw it in the FS forum.

Very nice ride. I saw it in the FS section and was just amazed how much I liked the white (always been a dark color fan). Great looking color combo.

Congratulations on your awesome new ride. I love GPW on 993s.

As TJBuford said, there's a great group of 993 drivers in the Dallas area. Please bring your car out to some of the gatherings soon so we can gawk.

Planning to attend the end of month event at RUF...or whatever they're called now. Hope to see some other 993's there.

Welcome and congrats on the purchase...really love the Speedster seats and if they weren't so pricey I would swap out my GT3 seats in heartbeat!

The reduction in shift throws from switching to a factory RS SSK is not that much...about 20-25%...which seems like a lot but is barely noticeable IMHO...the most noticable part is that you don't have to reach as far forward as before. I would definitely do the Golden Rod upgrade...the weakness in the factory shift linkage is that there is quite a bit of slop, the SSK and GR will significantly help address that, as well as switching to firmer motormounts - combination of these will give you that "snik-snik" shift feel. BTW you should also replace the forward rod with FD's rod for reliability reasons...mine failed and it was not a pleasant experience
