Default Finally got a 993!

Hi all,
Just wanted to post my happy news as per forum rules. My patience (which was thin at times) paid off! I finally got a '95 triple black 993 cab from a fellow RL'er. I had been looking on and off for the past 2 years. The car has a few needs (new top and locking motors, door hinge fix, etc), but the price was right, so I jumped on it. It has some nice upgrades too (Fister III exhaust, short shifter, Carrera door sills). The Fister exhaust sounds awesome! Photos attached...

Thanks to everyone on this forum who offered advice and support throughout my search. Y'all have been most helpful. I just hope I can reciprocate in some small way.

Now I'm off to find that slippery slope everyone keeps talking about.

Cheers!
BB

Congratulations! Isn't it a great feeling to have one of these in the garage?

Welcome. I was a Porsche virgin until I bought my 993. I really enjoy the car and the people I have met as a result of it like this guy above me ^^^^^^

Dang straight!

The first night after I got it home, I stayed up til 3am messing around with it in the garage - reading the owner's manual, putting the top up and down, checking the oil, looking for the DME location, trying all the *****, buttons, etc. Then I took it for a midnight ride. And it's not easy getting it out of the garage quietly with that beautiful rumble coming from the rear end.

Am I ill or what?!

Congrats! And no, you are not ill--I still love the smell the car gives off in the garage and the connection when on the road.

Nice car. My first 993 was a blk/blk cab. It looked exactly like yours when I bought it...then I joined RL. Still miss it.

Congrats!!! I know how you feel. And you are not ill then if you are then I must be too. There's something about these 993 because for some reason it make all of us grown men turn into a kid at heart. Oh with those Stage 3's I bet you were rumbling in the night. LOL I believed you on that. Have fun and enjoy your new ride.

Welcome! No, you are not ill. I have had my 993 for 2 years and I still look in the garage 2-3 times a day just to look at it. I also will go sit in it for no reason other than to smell it and feel the steering wheel. Welcome to the slope.
