Default Stencils vs. Decals

I am about to repaint my calipers and wondering what's the best method for the lettering: stencils or decals. Obviously the decals sound easier. Just curious if anyone has had a bad experience w/ the decals? I did search and found some threads, but hoping maybe there is more current data. Thanks.

My decals have been on for 4 years with no problems. I put 2 or 3 coats of clear coat over them. I am about to redo the paint on the TT calipers and will use decals on it also.

Decals look OEM and work great. I didn't clear coat over them. No issues.

Decals on my RSA too when I painted the 993TT calipers yellow. Many track days later and no issues whatsoever. Didn't clear coat them either.

Decals are a little larger than the OEM font however. If you're really concerned about a concours look you can stencil your calipers, but it's too much work IMO.

I used decals, and yes they are slightly larger than OEM, but once they are on you can't even tell. They look great. I also put a couple of coats of high temp clear over them. I do not concourse my car...I prefer to drive it more than clean it.

Sorry Bob, I meant no offense. I think I have a little ADHD...I get distracted very easily when the sun is shining.

By the way, did you beat me out on that pair of mufflers for sale?

Thanks guys, glad to hear decals work well, as I am too lazy to do the stencils.

One way or the other, most 993 mufflers will end up in your hands anyway.

I also used decals. No clear coat either. Still holding up very well. I like no clear coat because if the clear starts flaking, you have to start all over from the beginning. No clear coat = easy fix!

Just don't order from Xenomods - I ordered from them and never got the product. Didn't get any good service either - took my money and that was it - no product to show for it.

I've ordered from Xenonmods several times (2x Porsche, 1x Audi) and have never had any issues. YMMV.

So, what's the best source for decals? I've heard that the company is cracking down on suppliers that are not licensed... which I guess is understandable. But, really what's the value of the brand on a caliper?!
