Yes they made them. They are called C2S or CarreraS Rare only made in 1997 and 1996. They were basically left over Turbo bodies without the Turbo motors, drive-train, brakes and suspension.

They were identical to the C2 as far as motor, drive-train and suspension, the bodies and rear engine grill was not.

They are slightly more rare then other widebodies. Usually worth a bit more then a standard 993. But it all depends on miles, condition, & options.

Same for same,
C2 Say $32-35k
C2S $38-42

C2Ss are more rare than C2s, and I looked for one initially, but the cost premium for rarity and "only" wider fenders and no real performance advantages over the C2 were not worth it to me. so I opted for a C2.

IF I could get a C2S for $1-2K over a C2, that would be worth it to me, but typically the premium is at least $5K or more. rarity is not worth it to me as I drive my car.

FYI,

Porsche exported only 993 (yes, nine hundred and ninety three cars!) of the C2S models to N. America of the 1998 model year, built in 1997, thus one of the more rare 993s.

Mine is one of 538 C4's & 937 C4S's imported. In the last 3 years of owning them both, I've driven a 993 over 40,000mi!

Although I have a narrow body 95 and I love it, there's really nothing more beautiful than the shape of a 993 widebody.

+2. I've enjoyed mine, as a year-round DD, for the last seven years and nearly 60k miles. Still gets thumbs up.

i have both, and both of them are nice.
however, i love the look of the c2s ...
and i like the fact that is not turbo and is more simpler and cheaper to maintain.

You will never notice any difference at all....the variation between cars > any performance loss on the C2S.
