Matt,

just look on the underside of the fuse /relay cover. There is a description & # grid for all fuses & relay's.
Relay's usually have a single function-but the descrption on the underside of the cover will tell you.

Exactly. There are only a couple under that cover. My understanding is that it removes power from all of the sensors associated with the heater blower motor. That little coil that was in the old duct is supposed to become very hot under certain circumstances...

Can't you just remove the sensors themselves rather than the fuse? The sensors are expensive pieces. I've removed them and boxed them up for future reinstallation. Seems like a more prudent approach than leaving them in the engine bay.

Sure. I'd remove the relay too though. The relay is part of the system that your CCU uses to kick on the blower when you select other than full cold. Having worked with electrical gremlins way too much, I'd remove anything connected to the blower circuit. Just removing the relay does this. But I can't fault your logic on preserving the sensors.

The factory RS bypass has a nipple to re-attach the hose. It's a breather for the distributors, I think.

My CS came from the factory without the blower motor fitted....the cables and connectors are there, neatly tied up with cable ties and the clear tube from the distributor base vents into the bypass pipe a couple of inches up from the base.
