My '91 928S4 was this color. It now belongs to S4ordie on this forum. He bought my car specifically because it is this color. He is doing a complete, total re-do with monster flares and such to the car so I'm sure he could answer any paint questions.

The colour of that 928 doesn't look anything like that of my 993, must just be the pics?
BTW I previously had a 928S2 some years back, fantastic car. The colour of mine was called something as bland as 'Beige' (sounds boring but it was a superb colour that really looked good on that timeless shape).

Opo - Congratulations on the new car!
That's a great color. I'm no expert on paints offered during the 993 generation, but, if the option list says 'paint to sample' then that's usually what it is. It could be a color from a previous year that was not offered for your year. This was pretty common for someone to want a color from a previous year (even a 356), or even from a different manufacturer. If this is the case, there may be a paint sticker on the car with the name of the color, and maybe the code on the option sticker.
If it was a true 'custom' color (i.e. the customer brought in a Maple leaf or whatever and had them match that), I don't think there would be a code for it. Pretty sure Porsche never kept records of any paint-to-sample colors, regardless if it was from a previous year/manufacturer or not, soa VIN check or COA won't say anything. So your best bet is the paint sticker of the option sticker.
Your car got 'special instructions'? What is that? And 20k worth of options - wow!
As for the OP, you can go to a professional bodyshop where they can mix the paint based on the code. However, in this particular case I would clarify about the water or oil based paint.
Take care!
