I have to ask: I already have jackasses in Mustangs trying to race me at stoplights. Is this more or less likely to happen with Stage II or IIIs?

I would say more. Last week a guy in a late 90's mustang cobra drove up beside my wife and I revving his engine, I didn't give him the time of day. Ist becaue I was with my wife. 2nd because his car would smoke my 993. But if I was by myself and in the mountains somewhere with some twisty roads I think the C4 would be able to take him....maybe

I get that in any Porsche I have driven, normal or loud. Yes, even the Cayenne. The only difference I have notice though with the Stage III's is that more Porsche owners on the street what to talk about it. Last weekend when I was out and about, I met 2 random Porsche owners, 1 in a 993 and one in a 356a. You do kind of stand out in traffic. I even had a guy in a Ford GT roll down his window to me and said " You have quite a gem there." Pulled a Han Solo and replied, " I know".

I think this will happen regardless, just because it's a Porsche.
I don't ever get negative feedback on the street about my IIIs, in fact it normally causes a nice thumbs up or smiling head nods, and lots of nice comments. When I do encounter the occassional Street Douche in his hoped up 'Stang looking for a fight, I don't engage him. Not worth it IMHO.*

*This is not a slam on Mustangs, I happen to like them.

Did someone say video? Sorry, this thread did say Fister **** right? What's **** without some music and the "actors" making their own music?

Well done ...
I have the original RSR mufflers, are these similar to Stage I or II?

Love my stage III's, I started out with stage II's, because noise was a concern, but shortly after I got them, I realized I should have gotten the III's. So I called up Darin, and he set me up with the III's and some chrome tips; flash forward a year later, and I still love them just as much as the first day I got them. They make the engine sound the way a dual-plugged flat-six should sound. I have driven with them back and forth from San Francisco to San Diego several times, and they have been a pleasure on the highway, just the right volume. Thanks again Darin!

Anyone got a moving clip of the Stage II's. The only one of Fister's website is a stationary sound byte. Darin, did you finish the clip you said you were working on?

I'm having a tough time deciding between the II and the III's. Ignoring the loudness aspect, the harmonics seem a little more balanced and pleasing to the ear from the II's but its near impossible to compare the clips. Would people who have heard both in person say the Stage II's raspier/metallic sound?

I wish the second plug was for adding power....this engine is not like the old RSRs where the second plug actually fired on the power stroke.

Yeah OK, now this is what a 911 is supposed to sound like!
After much debate I call Darin direct via cell, he has a stage III set in hand, cool send em.
New wide ovals? Send em as well.
Two day wait and they look bitchin', gotta find a lift real quick like.
I find an outside lift avalible and drive on, borrow a 13mm and thrash, 10mm I think for the heat shields?
45 minutes later........pure sex comin' out of pipes, very happy!

Darin, thank you Sir
oh yeah then I find out he has a 3 spoke 996 wheel and bag, send it!

I debated hard about the excess noise level as I have a Cab and Tip but this really is spot on what I was after.
Thanks again Mate.

Spoke with Darin last night. Stage III's on they're way to calgary. Can't wait. Gotta ask, how difficult are these to install? Keep in mind I'm mechanically useless. Are there any gaskets or anything additional I will need to install?

Thanks in advance!

Derek
