I just installed the stage III's today, my Oh my, what a sound. My wife was nervous when she heard it idle but took her ride in the car and she was all smiles. Not loud when just cruising but get on it and you here the Stage III magic. Nice job Darin an FD Motorsports, Darin the cores are on their way back!! Thanks again.

My stage 3's have just arrived back in London after a 10,500 mile round trip. Incredible service by Darin to turn these around so quickly. It was a logistics pain to get them over there and then back over here - and I know airline security at JFK inspected them in complete bewilderment (Had to explain what it was they were looking at...)

Have to organise getting them fitted - am looking forward to it. Have never heard them before - just carried away by all the positive comments on the forums.
Wondering if I have the first Fister's in London...?

Big thanks again to Darin for all his help.

Simon, There are a few others in the UK, but I think you are the first in London.

I would love to hear the narrative as to how how these compare to Gen 11 Supercups.

Hey Simon,

I'm located in Germany and thinking about getting some stage III's... would be great to hear more about your experience of shipping to Europe?

Instead of shipping your original cans from the U.K., did you consider buying another set of mufflers off eBay in the U.S. and shipping them directly to FD? That's what I'm thinking of doing -that gives the option of reinstalling the originals when it comes time for a TUV inspection.

I bought some used cans in the UK and sent them to Darin, but as you rightly say, if you can find some in the US and have them shipped direct to him that would make more sense and is likely to cost less.
Getting them back to the UK was going to be annoying. Shipping plus import duty made it very expensive, but as it happenned I was able to have Darin ship them to NYC since my wife was there for the weekend and she brought them home as luggage......

Here are my observations:
Supercups are louder than Stage IIIs. Don't get me wrong, Stage IIIs are loud, just not AS loud as Supercups.

Supercups drone in the cabin at 2800-3000 RPM. I had Supercups on my car for over a year, so I know of what I speak. Stage IIIs do not drone.

As for tone, to me Supercups are very deep and make a 911 sound like a V8. I got this comment aot when I had SCs on my car: "Sounds like you got a V8 in that thing?"
Stage IIIs have a very aggressive tone, but IMHO still have a "Porsche" sound. Just a very mean one.

Killer sound system? Who needs one when you've got FDM Stage IIIs. These ARE a killer sound system. Easily the single best 993 upgrade you can make.

Got mine installed tonight, went on a 40 minute test run. To use a contemporary colloquialism, OMFG! This is THE 911 sound I've been after. The tone is perfect... idle, full throttle, part throttle, off throttle... just PERFECT. Not too loud for me at all; who cares what others think. At highway cruise speeds its nice and quiet, with NO drone.

Darin, Mark....if there's any way you guys can trademark this sound, do it. It's that good. Bravo!

I went to our local cars and coffee a couple of weeks ago with the Stage IIIs on C2. This young guy came up to me and asked me how I got my car sound so "angry and pissed off"

He said he wanted his car to be "pissed off"
