Default Wevo semi solid eng. mounts

Gentlemen. It's time to change my factory engine mounts on my 98 Carrera....Have any of you tried or had experience using the Wevo C2SS mounts in place of factory mounts or RS mounts? TIA Harry

If you search there are quite a few who have swapped to the Wevo mounts. I went with RS motormounts but frankly I think I should have gone with Wevos instead.

The only downside if that you should probably have the engine carrier reinforced if your car is not a turbo. Rennline has a kit for the carrier reinforcement.

I have blue. You'll love them. I didn't reinforce the engine carrier as the well respected professional (Viperbob) who did my install said it wasn't necessary unless I was going to be tracking the car frequently.

Why don't more people just use the solid rubber mounts of the C4/C4S?

I don't believe it has been proven that they are solid rubber, in fact I seem to recall pics showing the opposite.

Furthermore, the wevos are cheap and work very well.

I have the black pillows on my turbo, and I'm very pleased.

Not to mention, if the pillows should wear out, you can replace them for about $30, and you have brand new motor mounts.

no excessive noise or vibration whatsoever.

Same here. There is a slight vibration and more feeling, but not in excess at all.
