Buon giorno, cocco!

Where are you in Italy?

Congratulations on the car, even 9 years later Many Americans wish that we could have your 3.8L engine! I like your story. I think something like this is even more meaningul when you have to make big sacrifices.

Please post some photos!

I wonder what it must be like to own a Porsche in the land of Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Maseratis. This is just a joke (please do not take it seriously), but here is one of my favorite commercials. Yes it is an Audi not a Porsche. But it is still very very funny.

Very cool that you wanted it, worked for it and got it. You should be proud. Nice going!

You sound like me. And a very similar car to boot. Welcome to the board. Most of us that have traveled through your country sure love it there. We learned the hard way about boarding buses on the Amalfi coast. You can't be nice about it. We waited for 30 minutes in the rain for a bus one day and people who came well after us pushed and shoved us out of the way to get on. We were left there dumbfounded.

When the next one came, we were equally aggressive and got on. I wish I had the guts to rent a car in a foreign county. We always just rely on public transport.

Cheers,
Steve R

Welcome!

What a great place to own on drive a Porsche...we loved the roads when we were there. We toured Umbria and Tuscani and found the people and roads fantastic.

There is a lot of good info here so feel free to search and ask questions.

Ciao

Buona sera, mi amici! I, too, have spent many wonderful days basking under the Italian sun with the breeze full of the smell of young olives on the branch, cheese being grated over fresh pasta, and the eyes dizzy with the wonderful sights of Italy both natural and feminine in form. One of my most famous relatives even played for the Italian team on your national basketball team. (His son - an even greater star in the NBA) - wouldn't be caught dead in a measly "old" Porsche and prefers machines that are much more exotic, although in my opinion, lacking in important areas.
Most of our travels have been in the Tuscani region and in Roma and Venezia. While there, I did not see even one 993, so you have a very special and precious prize in my opinion. Take good care of her and you will be rewarded daily with more than just an incredible environment in which to live, but a vehicle that shows how unique your perspective of the world really is! While others there may not share their knowledge with you, my experience here on this forum is that there are many here who are anxious to help; and some even know what they are talking about! Buona fortuna!
Ciao!
