Another Introduction
Hello. After lurking for about six months I figured it was about time to introduce myself. In 1999 I bought my first Porsche: a 1987 928S4. That was a mistake, but is the topic for a different thread. Let's just say it's running pretty well now. However, I'm 6'2" tall or so, and I've never been comfortable in the 928 (with sunroof) because my head is up against the headliner. It's worse with a helmet because I have to tilt the seat back to an uncomfortable position. A co-worker has an '82 911 so I sat in that and found that I had plenty of headroom. After doing some research I focused on the 993 series as a replacement for the 928.
Last October I bit the bullet and bought a 1995 C2. I saw an ad in Panorama and after some investigating (but no PPI
) I agreed to buy it. I flew to Pittsburgh from Washington (state) with plans to drive it back. I wanted to see the car before I bought it, and had a return trip ticket just in case. The car was very good condition and had the following notable options: Guards Red exterior, Black interior, LSD (M220), ABD (M224), short shifter travel (M241), 17" Cup wheels (M398), and automatic speed control (M454).
After a test drive and fairly thorough inspection I agreed to buy it, and went through the hassle of buying a car in PA. I then loaded up the car (engine undertray and car cover in the "backseat") and headed west, ending up in Sandusky, Ohio for the night. The plan was to generally follow I-90 or maybe I-94 west. When interesting shorcuts or longcuts presented themselves I would take those. The next nights were spent in Wisconsin, South Dakota, Montana, then home. Other than an intermittent cruise control system the car drove great. The HVAC system seems a little inconsistent also. If I remember correctly it was a 2500 mile trip.
The first modification I made to the car was adding Fister Stage III mufflers. They look and sound great. I've made one trip to Seattle and back (~500 miles) and the exhaust sound was not bothersome at all.
I've only been stopped by the State Patrol once so far. I was on a two-lane highway and had just passed some cars when a group of cars containing the Patrolman came from the opposite direction. I might have been slow to reduce my speed after passing the cars
, but somehow I brought attention to myself and the Patrolman made a U-turn and turned on his lights. He asked for my license and registration, and pointed out that we are required to have front license plates on the car. No mention was made of speed, and no warning or ticket was issued. I still don't have a front license plate on the car but I'm working on it.
I'm currently fixing up all the little things that need fixing. I've changed the oil once, and recently changed the transmission fluid (Redline 75W-90 NS), and changed the air and pollen filters.
I'm going to start asking questions about a few other things, but thought I would provide this background information first. Thanks for reading!

Welcome and congrats...here's my best advice. Don't ever sell it and don't ever take it to the track. You'll regret the first one and your bank account will regret the second
In all seriousness, congrats...I hear the 95's are the fastest ones anyways at least in black.
