Just dumped four in the garbage....last week. Guys come over, we take the cover off, they promise to come back to get the cover, and then they take up shelf space for years.
Felt a little weird dumping them, but it sure cleaned up a shelf!

Aren't they made of plastic? (I've never actually seen one.) Maybe you should've tried the local recycling center?
