Default Need Driver side mirror glass

I was driving along today when I hit a bump and the darn glass fell off and shattered on the road. I need just the glass for the driver side outside mirror if anyone has a spare. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You can order them new for about $100-120 the last time a checked (which was a few years ago unfortunately). An option you may want to consider is using a wide angle passenger mirror which is available for Euro-spec RHD cars (it would be same as your current passenger mirror). Or you can consider affixing the stock mount from your shattered mirror to a wide angle aspheric Multivex mirror...although that might feel strange if you kept the right passenger mirror stock.

Just go to a good windshield glass shop and they will get you a aftermarket mirror for your car for less then $20 . That is what I did and there is no difference from a OEM .

I just replaced my drivers side mirror glass. The base or mounting of it is quite intricate -- order a factory one!

Mine fell off a few weeks back while accelerating -- guess it didnt like the longitudinal G's

Obviously it was not installed correctly.

I just replaced mine a few months ago to replace my driver's side mirror glass that had a hairline scratch on it.

It went for US$75.23 from Sunset.

Here is my mirror install how-to with pics.

I think he means the glass literally separated from the black frame that mounts to the motor. Not uncommon and has nothing to do with not being installed correctly. The mirror glass is glued to the frame, then the frame with glass is attached to the motor via the rotating lock ring.

I misunderstood. I guess the adhesive foam dried out after so many years. Heat probably does not help.

this happened to me last year. I went to a local respected glass shop and they were able to make me a template and cut me a piece of glass. looks perfect. cost me $20 out the door.

Exactly! Ordered one from Sunset today. They actually keep them in stock. I feel lost driving without my mirror... thanks for the suggestions.

Good thing I took my time and didn't use that method or it would have been costly. The 993 mirror mounts differently so I decided to write up a how-to.
