"Because of Porsche" is not a valid reason for a speeding ticket in the US.

Last speeding ticket was in 1998. Only going 80mph, with traffic, down the 405 in the OC. I was convinced he targeted me because of the Porsche. Really annoying - would prefer to be done for going faster, not for a piddly 80mph!

I got a ticket yesterday. Third ticket in the past ten years. I wasn't driving a Porsche. It's called heavy-foot tax.

You just may have jinxed yourself!

Also, you're in Canada. The U.S. is corrupt beyond belief, and the system here cares more about money than anything. Therefore, way more opportunities to be ticketed exist here. Rather than being fiscally responsible, in the U.S. federal, state, and local governments use extortion and abuse of power to shake-down citizens for more revenue.

Well, at the risk of Jinxing myself, I haven't gotten a ticket in the Porsche yet either, only one warning in 4 years ... knock on wood.

I have gotten a few in a Porsche, but because I was speeding. However, I don't think I have ever gotten pulled over in a pcar and given a warning. One day I may try to explain how I have had professional driving instruction, very rarely talk on the phone when driving, don't drink frappamochachinos and eat cheeseburgers, have two hands on the wheel... I imagine that will not end well for me though, so usually I would just say thanks and go on.

I got a ticket just because I was driving a Porsche. I was going at the exact same speed as everybody else, close to 80mph in a 65 zone. The police officer said he picked me out from the crowd, just because he wanted to see my car. He was all over it, having a blast, and then he wrote me a $150 ticket.

Four in three years, one warning, and one in the truck. Three of these I more than deserved. The others were selective enforcement due to what I was driving. The truck incident happened when a lady in front of me slammed on her brakes at the first hint of a yellow light, and I couldn't brake fast enough.

There was one time when I was REALLY breaking the speed limit. I told the cop that the car was really safe at high speeds. He actually agreed and wrote me up for 90mph, which was much lower than he had clocked me at. He said that while I might be safe, my driving fast could scare other road-users who, startled, could get into trouble. Kind of made sense, and I now only go fast when there's open road and no other cars around.

Just got one for 83 in a 65 2 weeks ago, was driving my wife's BMW. I didn't have a radar detector in it, I drive with one in it now. Got a piddly one in the 993 cab 2 yrs ago, 40 in a 30, no one around me. The low fuel light had come on several miles earlier and I was rushing to get to the gas station (driving faster uses less fuel don't ya know). Had the radar det. in the car but hadn't turned it on.....

Considering how I drive I've been lucky.

Default Ticket the first day!

I posted this once before to Rennlist but...I guess I have a second chance to get my money's worth out of the ticket.

I bought my car last June in PA and drove it back to Ontario (that's in Canada...to the North). I was driving along a beautiful secondary road in NY state and as was coming over a hill I got nabbed. I wasn't really going that fast but I still got got.

My second ticket was just a few months ago and I have a court date in April. (Again, not going that fast - 20km over) I really do believe these tickets were because of the Porsche. It's just so easy to get moving in this thing.

I'm signed up for for DE classes this spring. Hopefully that will help me get my speed out on the course and keep to the limit on the roads.
