My only ticket thus far (touch wood) has been when I pulled into the left lane to pass a slower car -- and inadvertently blocked a cop who was traveling in the left lane. Poor situational awareness on my part. Anyway, cop pulls me over and writes me up for "impeding the flow of traffic." Only $50 or so and no points.

I still laugh that of all the things I've done with this car in my 5+ years of ownership, "impeding the flow of traffic" has hardly been one of them.

I was driving along a beautiful secondary road in NY state and as was coming over a hill I got nabbed.
The NY State Troopers do love their radar and when they get bored their tolerance decreases.

I haven't had a ticket is several years. My last was driving back from Monterey in an Aston at 80 in a 65. It was fair IMHO and I don't think the car had anything to do with it. Probably my "worst" was years ago in LA when I had a new car and enjoyed hot-******* up an on ramp of the 405 - unfortunately merging right in front of a CHP while going 80. We both laughed about it but I still got the ticket.

In 20+ years of driving I have two tickets, one in each of my 993's... Not driving any different than I normally do.
Now, if I ever drive the current car (see avatar) on the road (very seldom) I drive to the letter of the law. Speed limit (maybe +5mph if im feeling crazy) in the right lane.

One in my 4S on the back from California to Texas after I bought it. The V1 saved me plenty of times but this was a video post ... It took the police about 12 miles "to catch up" and I got out of bigger trouble because I did not drive aggressively by pushing people or not keeping distance. Police officer: "We could see that you can drive at speed but this is not German Autobahn". At the end it was a good lesson/reminder that driving fast should happen in a safe environment = race track and not on public roads.

I haven't owned my 993 long enough yet.

But two in 35 years of driving...none on a very hot sport bike (triple the NY state speed limit)...both in slow boring cars. Go figure!

Nah, Nope, Not gonna happen. The speed limits are set for the lowest aptitude drivers with the worst POS vehicles, they don't set them for vehicles/drivers like ours.

In 35 yrs. of driving I've had 2 accidents. The first was in the rain and I was stopped at a traffic light and a girl clipped my RR fender from the other lane. (San Diego cop gave me the ticket because he said I was stopped on the line for the lanes....funny thing is, we were in a fast food parking lot half a block away and he never went back to look at the accident site. She was young and a hell of a lot prettier than this sailor was so...)

The other a lady pulled out in front of me and I hit her LR w/ my RF, kind of a no brainer, she got the ticket.

Oct.09' for me. Got booked at 88 in northern NH.....they have laser up there by the way....so Valentine 1 is pretty useless. The trooper was a good guy and wrote me up for 67. I was exceeding 100 just before so I was lucky in a way.. It was worth the laughs in the long run..

Anyone in the know knows that survivability in a collision decreases exponentially with speed.

Germany has roughly one-quarter the population of the US as well as one-quarter the vehicle related fatalities, yet we "cruise" at 125 MPH on the Autobahn. Speed must be terribly dangerous.

I agree, your average driver on this continent is pretty clueless.

I've been pulled over 5x, two tickets, almost 8 years--1 didnt go on my driving record (46 in a 35 and went to traffic school) and the other (92 in a 65) will stay off my record if I dont have any moving voilations for 18 months--12 down, 6 to go!! The others were verbal warnings and my driving record today is spotless.

All could have been avoided if my music wasnt turned up. If your going to speed, keep the tunes down low.

My second ticket was just a few months ago and I have a court date in April. (Again, not going that fast - 20km over) I really do believe these tickets were because of the Porsche. It's just so easy to get moving in this thing.

I'm signed up for for DE classes this spring. Hopefully that will help me get my speed out on the course and keep to the limit on the roads.
Are you sure you didn't get pulled over for being too short? I can't even see the top of your head over the steering wheel!

Actually I'm bent over in the cop car. How do you think I got my ticket reduced?
