I am pretty positive my black ones are powdercoated or anodized aluminum. If I think of it, I'll check when I get home.

Maybe your Ebay one is a fake

My e-bay one is a replica if the ones used on the Cup cars. Except that it is holey and made from billet rather than the factory aluminum castings.

All the black ones I've seen are on the 964RS & 964Cup and 993RS street, the aluminum versions I have seen were all on 993 GT2 993RS/CS and 993 Cup, I never noticed before but the black ones appear to be a painted steel assembly, you can see the welds in some of the close ups.

Please do throw a magnet on one

What were the non-adjustable Matter ones supplied on?

I'll try to do that this afternoon.

Matter Design - think it came on GT2s (and I was thinking Cups).

I was wrong - the ends are steel. The unit is very light, though.

That Matter one is at least commonly believed to have come on GT2s.

I had a sec and went to your link, but that page was all about wheels.

The one from 911chips.com is very similar to the RS piece for about $195. Thats what I have and I'm happy with it.l

I have one of the Matter ones at home and I think it has a Porsche p/n on it so I'll check.

Just to wrap this up, I guess that the one piece Matter brace was used on Gt2 Evo(though not listed in the parts book)

Thanks to Bart for looking it up
