Have had Porsches for many years, and have decided to buy my "final" example, if I can find the right car.
I want a pre-OBD2 993, which means a 1995. The ideal car will be a 95 C2 coupe in Arena Red. Mild mods are ok as is a stock car. Mileage should be between 50k to 70k. Must be a 6 speed. I would pay more for a car with LSD. No damage history and need records of the maintenance of the car.
Is there anyone out there that is willing to part with such an animal?

Per the 911 'Red Book' '94/'95 OBDI cars paint colors were:
Speed Yellow ('94, '95 '96)
Riviera Blue ('95 only)
Guards Red (all years)
Amaranth Violet ('95 only)
Black (all years)
Grand Prix White ('95 and '96)
Slate Gray Metallic ('95 only)
Polar Silver Metallic ('95 and '96)
Black Metallic (all years)
Midnight Blue Metallic ('95 and '96)
Iris Blue Metallic ('95 and '96)
Aventura Green Metallic a.k.a Aventurine Green Metallic ('95 and '96)
I wouldn't let OBDII stop me from buying a color that I want. OBDI cars suffer from the same problems, they just don't show up on the CEL register and if you look for a car here on Rennlist, many of the OBDII cars either don't have problems or the problems have been addressed/resolved.

Porsche had a color like Arena Red on the 964's, I believe. Hard to believe that it was not offered in 95. That changes things a lot. Normally, I would want to buy the latest in a car's series, which would be a 97 or 98. Having watched the pricing on 98's, I have to be realistic and say that one equipped the way I mentioned in my first post....would be beyond my hobby budget. So, a 96 or 97 must be the car that I am in search of.
Porsche, for years has been known for soft valve guides, so the air injection system on the 96-98 cars has got to be one of the weak links for the model series. Has anyone found a proven way to dissolve the oil that impedes the air injection to the point where you get the CEL and can't pass smogging of the car?
If I understand the phenomina, as the cars age and valve guide leak-by increases, will not all the 993's with the seepage end up with the same issue with the CEL?
At any rate, that puts me in the market for a 96 or 97 Arena Red C2. Are there any nice examples out there with owners looking to trade up......and for which pricing is reasonable?
Thanks for all the feedback on colors. I had entirely overlooked that.

with a grain of salt --> I was told that the 993 was unveiled in Geneva, Switzerland in Arera Red and available in Europe through 1995 but was not sold in that color in America until 1996. Hopefully someone can confirm.
Good luck with purchase, arena red kills bugs faster

Arena red - love the color. To answer your question regarding the SAi, yes, there are methods to clean out the ports. You can search here or here is a link to one of a few documented methods:

I have two 95 993 with one having 115 k and other has 130k miles and both are not using oil because I believe the use of Motul oil and oil change aprox. every 3k miles , also keep the revs up . In other words drive the car like you borrowed it from your ex
