I can't believe I missed this event. I was driving around in the 993 all day and could have stopped by! I need to check in more often...

Andreas - you have a great camera and a decent eye. It's a good combination. Really nice pics. Would love to see interior pics of that blue VW. Got any?

I'd rather have a great eye and a decent camera. My vision is not what it used to be...

No interior pics. I can report that fore & aft movement of the seats is accomplished via large wing nuts on the floor, the only gauge is a speedo, the original sunvisors were made of some translucent plastic, body-colored sheet metal was everywhere, and the ashtray had butts in it.

Steve, next time maybe you can end and have lunch at Bugaboos. Just had dinner over there and it was pretty good with plenty of parking.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm sure people are sick of going to Hard Times Cafe anyway! I'll try to remember that place for next time.

Guess what, it looks like there's going to be a next time for me, too. Yeahhh!

You're receiving, while we're paying.

Ahhh, taxes. It's a beautiful thing when you pay too much throughout the year and the next year you get a huge, forced savings, tax refund that you never expected.

Just in time to save the day. It doesn't make my accountant happy that we do it this way but it works great for our April budget.

I'm not keen on letting them earn interest on my money throughout the year...

+993 I would rather pay a little at the end of the year than have them hold my refund. Not hijacking to get political

Default Cool looking event..

Looks like you had some really nice weather for the gathering, Steve. That Slate Grey 993 is just absolutely gorgeous. And, it's nice to see a few 944s & 928s in attendance, too.

Thanks for the pics.

Regards, -rickj.

Andreas,

Amazing '53 bug....great to see. I learned to drive in a '56 oval window, green w/red interior. It was mint condition, all original. My grandfather was the original owner and passed it down. We showed it a bit in the mid-80's at events like Bug-In, etc. My father sold it about 8 years ago..still all original. I wish I had the space to keep it at the time.

Well the place I had in mind is definitely not cheaper..but the food is considerably better and the parking ample.

The Olney Grille @ 3464 Olney Laytonsville Road..

Sounds great but unfortunately:

"HOURS:
Monday to Saturday
Open For Lunch & Dinner,
Sunday Dinner Only"

They're not open for lunch on Sundays when we do the "Meet and Drives".

Tony suggested Bugaboo Steak House which is open for lunch on Sunday's. I'm game.
