Yes, yes, yes. I was around then as well!

I remember that time we spent hours mulling over decal placement on your car...

Nice work Andreas. If I bring over a case of Dogfish Head, can you help me with mine?

Cosmoline is banned from my property. You'll need to find some other yodel to handle that request.

I need to cut back on the DFH...

That said, this project spans a few days with all of the prep work and paint curing times.

Andreas seriously, I'm impressed, wow!

Well done Andreas. Bead blasting the parts first is key.

I would also add that a cheap 3 prong gear puller would be a great tool for anyone attempting a fan/alternator disassembly.

Nice job! ... comme l'habitude
That Duplicolor is great stuff .... it reminded me of our exchange in '07 on this same topic link .... I did not use a primer, and went with a subtle silver creamic vs the more agressive 'hooker lipstick red' ( Tigers favourite) Three full driving seasons later, and the fan still looks freshly sprayed: that red should last forever.

From one **** retentive, obsessive/compulsive, perfectionist to another.... Very very nicely done!

I have a few projects planned for this spring (RS uprights, PSS10's, remove AC, Remove heater blower) and that one might be added to the list.

One question though.... Is there any concern about the paint causing an imbalance to the fan?

Thank you!

My wife worries that I will continue to find things around the house to bead blast. Even things that do not need it...

I remember our exchange well. I painted my fan using similar methods a few years ago and it still looks great.

Thank you Freddy! I employ a very practiced sweeping action that I've honed over many years of rattle canning. Fan imbalance should not be an issue.

Ask your "friend" on the bike.

Andreas, another great piece. Midnight Blue (L39C to be exact) sure would look purdy in my 95's engine compartment.
