For a DIY, parts cost $80-$90. If you take it to a shop, expect them to charge an hour of labor and a premium on the parts. $185 sounds like a reasonable place for having someone else do it.

I would get some jack stands and a floor jack and learn how to do it yourself. Nothing like leaning the ins and outs of your car.

Them jugs are so nice. I think the emphasis should be placed on $25.

Actually, last month the $25 jug had a $12 rebate from Mobil so the deal was pretty nice!

It looks like for the invoice it was about 2hrs of labor, a couple of filters, oil, advanced formula moa for $380. And this was a local Porsche shop, not a dealer.

Had oil change done today in Miami at a reputable shop:
Parts: 172.83$
Labor: 224,98$ (2h)
Total: 397,81$

Labor played a big role.
expensive? YES! But it had not been done for 3 years ( 6,000miles) and had one belt gone so did all together.

Belt job was 500$

I always have the oil tested at Blackstone Lab so there is some documentation. (So cool responding to a post from over ten years ago!)

The cost of filters from the dealer. Add another $80 or so for Brad Penn 20w50. Much cheaper online but I had the car up and wheels/bumper off. Ohh well.
