Ok you made me look it up
Willow Springs track records
JP 1:30:370 on 2/7/1999 by Ross Clardy
But I too remember him doing 29s, probably when he moved up to R5 with the big wing etc
Here is Don Dicker in the 996:
MI 1:31:162 on 12/1/2002
And to put things in perspective for the air cooled 911 guys:
V3 1:25:976 on 12/2/2007 for Mike Monsalve

I was talking about POC Formal Track Records
On the POC web site we see Ross's record.
JP 1:30.370 9 ROSS CLARDY 2/7/1999
This records is on the way to be broken soon, Bob Thacker is getting real close, turning in the 1:31s. Ross may have turned a 1:29, but to set a POC formal track record, the driver needs to set the record in a traditional time trial setting...that is, grid up according to your best time that day, wait a bit, get out on the track with 1 warm up, 2 hot laps and 1 cool down lap.
Racing with POC began in 1994 or thereabouts. So POC racing is about 16 years old...in 16 years quite a few people have come and gone. As we all know, other things come up and become more important, kids, the wife, the job, saving some money, blah, blah!
That is not stopping me...I am pissing away my retirement funds racing, can't be doing the racing when I am totally feeble, only partially feeble now (PS: Thank god my wife has a good job, thanks Baby!)
