After having experimented with various muffler/cat combos and options and having listened to countless exhaust systems in person, not to mention YT, the only way to go IMO is with Chris' sports cats and custom (ala RSR or Fister) mufflers. Cargraphic headers on top of that would be outstanding but probably overkill.
That said, bang for buck, LPMMs.

Couldn't agree more, DACH sport-cats with Fisters would be my number one choice. As it is, I've got stock setup on my 97 (I know, I FAIL! Not to worry, I'm sure a set of Darin's magic-cans will make it on the car this year.), and did the LPMM mod on my 95. I'm lucky enough to have a neighbor who owns a muffler shop. He did the LPMM mod for a box of adult apple juice.

I have had RSRs for the past 8 years or so and just got Fister Stage IIs. If I were you...I would get one of these two mufflers. For a deeper, more throaty sound, the RSRs. For a more raspy, racier sound, the Stage IIs.
