Default OT Porsche Cayenne S

Hi All:

I know this is nothing related to 993, but I am consider the Cayenne S and would like to know if there is any common problem beside the leaky collant hose.

I have seen the price of this car in the range of 18-22 for 2004 model and really have an itch to switch from my mini van to 4X4 since the boys is getting little older which one dont really to be in the car seat now.

Thanks

From what I have read, late model 2004 and up are prefered. Seems like the older cayennes have maintenance issues. I test drove a 2006 cayenne s and seems a bit under powered. It does have solid feel.....though

And another lemming sprints towards the cliff of Cayenne ownership...yes, the Cayenne, the vehicle that makes you want to own a reliable 928...

BTW, it's not a coolant hose, its a black plastic coolant plenum, under the intake (which BTW is where the starter is), so when it cracks/leaks (and it's not a question of IF but WHEN), it drops coolant all over the starter and down into/onto the transmission seals.
And of course, the replacement part is cast metal, but the black plastic is still being used in all new production engines...

There is a 'sticky' at the top of the Cayenne forum regarding 'Coolant Tubes', along with pictures and procedures (posted by the forum resident Board Certified Cayenne Trauma Surgeon, Porsche52).

Good luck and Godspeed...

They don't grenade, they just **** all over themselves. Haven't had it happen yet on mine, hope it does before the CPO warranty is up though.
