interesting pattern of streamlines on my 993 after driving some hours in heavy rain! Any aerodynamicist care to comment?

Airflow attached as far as I can see, a good thing!!

I have a similar shot of the front of my car showing how the smallest things (hood badge) disrupt airflow.

Cool shots!

We do similar work on our racecars with a fluid called flow-vis

What is nice to see is the lines are long and straight. It indicates the air flow is staying attached to the body and flowing smoothly over it. Looks like it was a long steady drive that allowd the lines to form and dry before becoming obliterated. Air will flow around the edge of the wing becuase there is higher pressure on the top than the bottom. There are no lines at the base of the wing becuase it is a low pressure dead spot of stagnant air.
You can see how the adge causes the flow tocurl around the top of it causing a low pressure spot, and then the flow separates and you don't see any lines behind it.

This is a really cool thread. Id love to put some of that stuff on my race car and just see what it does and where it goes.

Very cool. Amazing to see the interruption in the stream from the hood badge.

It looks like laminar flow with streaklines. Cool.
