My warning lights sometimes flicker dimly when I'm driving, usually when I stop after going at speed for a while. They don't come on brightly, they just dimly fade on and off a bit for a second or so, and that's it. I think most if not all of them come on, in the combo guage left of the tach and the lower part of the clock (it's hard to see as it happens pretty quickly).

Sometimes after this happens, my fan belt warning light comes on and stays on.

I've measured the voltage while driving via the cig lighter socket. It ranges from 14.25VDC at idle to 14.40VDC at most RPM above idle, and seems very steady. It's over 12VDC with the car off. I observed NO fluctuation during the episodes of flickering.

Any ideas?

Things I've thougth of:
Belts (gonna have them changed soon anyway)
Battery (seems to hold a charge, cranks well, but is at least 5 years old)
Alternator

There's a lot of reported problems with the "Christmas tree" effect on warning lights on 964, though I've never seen it on 993.
The reason for this on 964 is high voltage sparkover due to faulty plug or distributor leads. This may be seen as small blue sparks in the engine compartment with the garage lights off. The sparks disturb the microprocessor controlled engine control system ECU.
