Default Cheap HID's

Just saw these from another post. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this brand. Seem too good to be true. I was going to buy 55w, Low Beam, Blue Crystal 8000k.

Questions, if I buy "low beam" what does that mean? I won't have high beams?

Also wondering if the Blue Crystal would be too bright? I figured since my car was blue it could be cool to have a blue tint headlight.

Which brand of cheap HIDs are you considering?

I purchased a 55w 5000k set from DDMtuning about a month ago and so far they have been great. http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p...=157&parent=85

I went with DDM too (Apexcore 55W 5000K IIRC). Only the low beam bulb is changed out. The consensus seems to be that the 4300 to 6000K range is reasonable.

8000k would be too purplish and dark!!!! Get 4300k for the brightest and 5000K for a little bit of blue tint.

There are 2 bulbs in the 993. You will be changing out the low beam one. The high beam is still the ordinary bulb.

You may have seen Jon Paul's thread where he replaced standard bulbs with HIDs in his fog/driving lights. The headlight buckets have two bulb positions. The upper bulb (low beam) is behind a lens/reflector, while the lower bulb is exposed and is the high beam. Ignitor modules quality varies so be careful which ones you get. I believe the kits that JP used can also be installed in the headlight position. You would need to get a separate system for the high beams, but for me, the low beams alone can be obnoxiously bright by themselves.
