Default Best Place to buy Alarm Remote?

What is the best place to buy a alarm remote.

I called Sunset and my price was $130 for the remote and $120 to program it.

Is $250 Usual? Sounds spendy.

Sunset was a good place to buy alarm remotes, when I bought two of them a couple of years ago. You need to have every remote, new and existing for the car programmed at the same time. It only takes a few minutes to program but requires several sequences of steps in a precise order. Our local dealer charged me $75.00 to do all three of them.

I think the reason, unfortunately and unbelievably, is that you live in Oregon. When I have called for quotes they always ask where I'm calling from. They must have been pressured by Porsche, possibly by other OR dealers (if any), to not offer extreme discount prices locally. Call them again and say you're calling from CA or AZ and see what happens.

Someone else already said it, but I'll reiterate......Sunset's "good" prices are part of their "Out of State Parts Program". Meaning if you are not in OR, they are going to cut you a better deal.

I buy ALL my Audi and Porsche parts from them and they have the best prices EVERY single time I call....but I'm calling from CO.
