Thanks. I'm pretty sure that the pop-off method is ten times faster despite being less graceful.

To get it off, sure.
It put it back on? good luck getting the ball to seat into the cup. Thats the big PITA.

Ken's post taught me that all you need is a pair of Vise Grips to hold the linkage in place. I snapped the ball into the cup in two seconds.

+1. I put a little WD40 on the ball which also helped "pop" it on.
