I have word from Gappy that the clock has still not arrived (sent via USPS Priority Mail from Baltimore to NYC on the morning of December 8th).
Words cannot describe the intense level of pissedoffedness I'm currently experiencing.
Oddly, it recently took five days for a similar package to get from me to Cactus in PA - via Priority Mail.
WTF is going on???

The mail system around the world is always a source for both amusement and frustration. The clock I recently received from Andreas ()took roughly two weeks from his home in MD to mine in BC (using my preferred method for any packages coming from the US, good old USPS and Canada Post. UPS/FedEx/etc all charge "brokerage" fees on top of their higher shipping costs resulting in overall shipping costs bordering on insanity). About what I had expected, perhaps a wee bit longer. During that time I ordered a couple other parcels, one from the UK, the other from Germany, both containing Porsche related merchandise of course. They were both ordered a few days after Andreas shipped the clock yet they both arrived several days before it arrived. What can we deduct from this? If you want something really fast, order it from as far away as possible! If you live relatively close to the shipper, ask them to ship it somewhere far away first and have the recipient forward it to you. Even if this doesn't work, you can be happy in the knowledge that your merchandise has been on a nice vacation.

To add to the perplexedness (not a word) the gift you recently received took 2 days, door to door.
I think Mike's got there overnight... via USPS!
I think Moffat's thinking is correct. Stuff needs to come from further away to get there sooner.
It don make-a no sense.

Well, as of this morning, the USPS site shows the package as "delivered" on the 17th.
Waiting to hear from Gappy................
