Default Anyone looking for a split grill deck lid

I have a concours glacier white split grille deck lid. It is complete. Please note that this is a rare peice since it came off of a C2S cab. The deck lid has a basket handle tail light.

$600 plus shipping

Good luck selling the complete hood - (not just the split grille!)

Guys, it looks like he is selling the split grill installed in a complete GP White decklid. While not a smokin' deal, I suspect it would definitely cost you more to buy a decklid, add the split grill, and do the paintwork.

Plus, if you buy this, you could sell your stock decklid to offset the cost. Too bad it's not red. Of course, for that price I would probably get a duck anyway.

GLWS.

I appreciate the input and will take it into consideration. I looked at EBAY and at the Porsche salvage websites, as well as called the local Porsche dealership, I felt the price was fair. Condsidering it came off a brand new car after just a few miles and is period correct, and needs nothing.....I guess I am just crazy.

By the way , with the money you saved, maybe you can spend a few dollars to become a Rennlist member.

G-- I'm not a "soapbox" kinda guy re: RL membership; just wanted to emphasize simple bennie:

A subtle plus that may have paid off before replying: membership makes searching easier (don't have to input "image verification" search access codes that non-members have to tolerate).

As many members know, but a search may have revealed: Jim's respected & knowledgeable. He owned the only topless widebody 993 on RL, straight from the dealer as a WB. I could be wrong, but that seems something that might generally interest you, given your project.

ClubRcr's usually a humble guy who does his own research, yet consistently thanks others.
His white split-grill tail FS is likely straight off that very rare 993

This car is 1 of only 5 widebody 993 cabs that were sold by a US dealer. I was lucky enough to find this one with only 12K miles.

Once again, thanks for all the help.

Jim-- Sorry for the above OT.

Thanks for your help when I was hoping to see your C2S cab in FL

If I had them to upload, I'd post pix of your cab with the split grill.

If you have any you can share here of her before the Turbo tail, or just of your grill now for sale, please do.

From a rarity/collectability standpoint if you do have 1 of 5 widebody cabs and should you ever decide to sell your car some time in the future, it will be worth a lot more if you can provide the original split grille deck lid as delivered with the car.

Seems like a great deal for someone with a GW car, low mileage complete lid with spoiler. I just bought a new spoiler gear assembly from Sunset, $280 plus shipping. I'd bet the spoiler motor is a tad more than that, retail ...

But, after years of owning and trying to restore and source parts for older Porsches, I think Harlan has a seriously good point. The value of having this original decklid to your extremely rare cabriolet will be priceless in the not-so-distant future and far outweighs any short term gain.

It would be sad to have to buy this thing back in 10 years from someone who knew what it was and the real value of it to the original car ....
