Default Experts...thoughts?

Gents,

It looks as though this is mis-labled and is a 1995 993 C2 advertised as a 'Carrera S'. Despite that, what questions would you ask? Top end/Valves redone, etc...? Also, what do you think is a fair price based on the mileage. It has been at this German mechanic shop for almost a year I think.

Thoughts?

Hawg,
Looks like a mis-print, but I am far from an expert.

If you are still coming to Germany, and bringing that car, you will have to get the window tints removed from the front windows. It is illegal over here, and the inspectors will make you remove it.

Take care,

Standard C2 as you have noticed. Having the 18" tech wheels is nice.

Drive it and look it over, If you still like it have a PPI done. Looks like your local to the car and that makes it easy.

There are alot of other little things (Litronic headlights? What seats does it have?, other options?) that can sway things a bit.

PPI is the final word, I remember ignoring the fact that mine turned up the 3rd brake light not working. I brushed this off as "I can fix that", which I did, after much swearing and almost purchasing a new rear window.

Very little info to make any assessments. No interior pics either.

I believe that all Carrera S cars have the split rear grill like my 98 shown below.

Were S cars even built in '95? I don't think so.

Yes, I am sure it is mis-advertised.

More importantly what should one look for in a 94k mile 1995 993???

Price is in the ballpark and it has at least a few upgrades so you have to establish condition (PPI), does it have good/complete maintenance records and options or upgrades you would like i.e. suspension.

I haven't asked the questions yet...still formulating my list.

From what you can tell what upgrades? I can only notice the window tint and wheels???

Thanks for the help!

It looks like it is at stock ride height, so I would doubt the suspension has been done. Which in my mind is good, as you can do the suspension they way you would like.
It has clear corners with Turbo S w/ foglight ducts.
It is also sporting 18-inch rims, I would also check if the steering rack brace was added.

1) Agree, the wheel offsets look strange.
-spacers or aftermarket wheels with incorrect offsets?
-if OEM wheels, solid or hollowspoke?
-if solid wheels, 7.5" fronts or 8" fronts?

2) Wiring harness recall (needs to be done on all '95s)?

3) LSD? Other options?

4) Clutch?

5) Any engine work done? If not, current oil consumption? Leaks?

6) Documented major engine service work (distributor rebuilds, rotor/cap, plug wires, plugs, oil change intervals, seals, etc.)?

7) If original suspension the shocks are done - for sure.

8) Accident/paint/ownership history?

9) Other typical 993 issues: door check straps, lower corner windshield/rear window rust, all external seals, a-arm bushings, ball joints, steering rack leak.

9) If hasn't been driven in a year or more will need all fluids changed including a complete brake system flush.

Hopefully you can use all of the above (and more) to negotiate hard on price .
