Hi There
I have just got some Bilstein HD's and will be getting MO33's. I would not even consider the MO30 on the UK roads I drive on. I have driven Lotuses for years and the one thing that really sets them above other cars is always the ride quality (for the type of car). They always have softer springs and stiffer dampers relative to the competition. If you want a tight 993 then fit RS spec bushes and mounts all round inc the subframe and steering arms. That will make a real difference.
IMHO that is, but it is what I am in the process of doing.

I bought my car with HDs and M033s installed, and ride lowered to RoW. I have no complaints at all--love it.
Doesn't Gert's site say that the M033s are preferred?

Hi Hythe
Actually I ended up with standard springs (M029 same rate as M033) with the HD's. I have not driven the car hard yet but early indications are good, but the ride is jiggly over poor surfaces at very low speeds. I have sport hardness bushes front and rear (Elephant Racing) and solid steering arms so that may not help. Also the car has not had a geo yet. I have that booked for Friday, and then hopefully a weekends hard driving in North Wales. The roads are very challenging up there and one or two make many cars bottom out quite hard so it will be interesting to see how this one does.
I do not know about the specs of the C2s's, did they all come with M030's?
All the best with the prospective purchase.

My USA 993 Carerra S had the M033 installed about 10 years ago.... 50k miles later and its still great.
I'm running the Cup II 17" wheel with stock tire sizes. Call me old fashioned... Nothing like a 12 year old 911 in original form.
The M033 suspension is the factories original suspension for the 993 S car, in Europe or ROW that is.

I installed MO33s with HDs around christmas.
Well the car rides lower now (SUV is gone).
Ride quality wise, at slower speeds, its significantly more harsh than before. i.e. cobbled streets are not a good idea. However I am in the UK and the roads here are not in great shape around town.
At speed its tighter, and pretty good.
I suspect that everything may still be bedding in, however, there have been some comments on the HDs being very stiff, and the ride with MO33 being harsh. There may be some truth in this.
If I was to do it again. Hmm. I might think about PSS10s, so there is an element of adjustability, but I'll stick with this, and see how it settles in through the summer.
Cheers
Phil
