Default 993 heat stuck on drivers side

Just bought a 1995 C2 with 48,000 miles, all is perfect except the drivers side heat is stuck on. Passenger side seems to do what it should. Where do I start?

Congrats! You get to replace the servo motor on the drivers side footwell

I'll go lookup a part # for you...

I had both go bad in back to back months. I let them be until summer :-)

Where the heck is it hiding? Pulled the carpet and failed to find it.

You should get a new:

993-624-325-00

for only $250.

Welcome to the world of $$$$ parts.

Thanks for the part #. I love the car so I will pay the price. My son has a nissan 300zx and parts are expensive for that thing too.

The flap is right above the dead pedal, once you remove the trim on that side. Be careful with the flexible yellowish hose that attaches to it, as it can be fragile. Its a bit easier to see in the parts diagram (pelicanparts.com will show you it if you click on the right tab).

Also, be sure to call sunset to check prices there and FD motorsport too

Sometimes the flap is just stuck. Check it out before you buy the part. At the very least you can close the flap (blocking the heat) until you get the parts.

You guys are joking, right? A good whack right by the dead pedal area should get the flap to release. Do a search. It's a well known remedial technique!

thanks... we can definitely get a new part for less than $250

As others have said, you can sometimes free up the flapper valve and give it a little lubrication.
Congrats on the 993 purchase!

Problem solved. I took the flapper valve out and just moving it fixed it. By the time I could see the flapper itself it was already moving. Thanks for the help.
