I have a different view of the model number on the plate...
Most people...what 99%...do not know what 993 means, even some Porsche owners (non-enthusiasts.
There is only one 993 plate in each state. Hah! I happened to look at the Dept of Licensing and 993 was available so I grabbed it. Dunno who had it before but now I've got it now...
At the Rennlist GTG, it was a pretty popular as in, "Dang, how did you get that"!
So anyhow, I like them be they model numbers (at least on Porsches) or a clever saying.

As long as they are not "arrogant," then why not? That's my view.
When I get them, I tend to make fun of myself, somewhat.
Had "JUSTAVW" on one of my old P-cars and "NO TORK" on an S2000.
