Default "We don't need no stinkin' badges!"

Whatever you do, enjoy that exotic custom ride when she's released to your garage! We know time, thought, & effort has gone into her creation.

Regarding your request for a rear logo:
Take it or leave it, but if you want a badge, a custom "993" emblem may be appropriate. It's rare & it's accurate, plus it may show your pride in your ride & that you went out of your way to do so. YMMV, but it may lead to enjoyable & enthusiastic responses from those who've never heard of a '993' & now suddenly realize it's their favorite Porsche when they see your emblem.

AFAIK, the factory never offered it, so the top 3 options appear to be:
- Customize an OEM '968' badge (what I did, but ruined two badges with my previous attempts ). May be a fitting finishing touch for your highly-customized 993, since it takes more effort & personalization than the following
- Order the $99 one made by bumperPlugs.com; it's larger than the '968' badge
- May be able to buy factory 'GT3' badge, then combine its '3' with a couple of '9's from properly-proportioned '911' badges

Hopefully hopeful. Regardless, TAKE LOTS OF PHOTOS when she arrives & have fun

No badge. Looks better and no false impressions.

BTW, pics soon or we will be forced to send someone over for a "chat."

Its your car do whatever you want

I would have put the "911 GT" on my GT2 conversion but never liked how it looked. Now if they had a GT2 in 993 font then it would be on there in a second. Alas they do not and the 996 GT2 font looks crappy esp on a 993 body. Stuck with my original Turbo lettering on the back.

Its all about what makes you happy

Sorry, have to agree with no badge or the 911 badge.

I have mentioned here before that people have come up to my totally standard RSCS assuming it is a rep.
I have also had some fun asking the owner of a sunroof, rear seat, turbo wheeled, small caliper, techart kitted C4 with an RS badge on the back, if it is real, to be told it was in fact a genuine RS.

Perhaps the best thing to do is put the $$$ saved on a new badge toward a genuine RS savings fund, I doubt you will regret it.

How about a "Type R" emblem?

^^^or an "M" badge?

Agree with everyone else here- its your car, but I wouldn't put an RS badge on a non-RS. The RS has a different engine from the standard Carrera, so it is in effect like putting a "turbo" badge on your car.

Firstly, I have to say I really like your car. I love the color and I think it's going to look fantastic with the RS bits. I'm also not a big fan of going badgless. I wore that look for a while and it was too naked. I personally think your car would look fantastic with a silver 911 badge. Jerry's cars:

My fake doesn't have one. If I did, it would be the script with something like "Faux RS". I took a hint from Peter Gregg's car almost 30 years ago on my fake IROC/930 thing I made out of my '68--"Made In Oakland" (but on a license plate frame, not a painted script on the decklid).

I used to have Carrera RSC on my RS clone and was going to add small letters to make it Carrera RSClone but went with Carrera R instead.

Unfortunately, its not a 993rs. But it has some of the OEM stuff...splitters, wing, side skirts, wheels, and brakes.

I don't like the way it looks bare. It looks like a lot of surface area with no break. For cars without the rear wing, I really like the badge-delete.

So, what do I do? I ordered the RS badge and new Carrera badge. Should be here soon.

I think I'll do the RS stuff, but I may be swayed if you guys have a freak-out about purist, poseur, fake, etc. I have a lot on my mind lately and may not be thinking clearly.
Mine came with an RS badge. I have the anniversary "911" script waiting to be put on.

IMO, "Carrera RS" is ok for clones of the 73-type. Cant explain why, but 993's just seem to "new" for incorrect badges.

I have seen clones that have only "RS" sans the "Carrera" and that, to my twisted mind, is ok for some reason.

Each to his own. Do what you like.

You're making a semi-clone, at least visually, so as long as you don't try to pass it off as real, put them on. It's your car - do what you like. You could also just leave it without badges for a while and see if it grows on you. If you later decide you still want a clone badge, put it on.
