****** move for sure, but it wasn't the first time, and won't be the last time.

Some people just don't get it.

I wouldn't want to use his professional service if he cannot act with any integrity.

Patrick, do you know if the buyer of his car actually got a decent deal, or was it bait and jack up? Sorry for the slight thread digression.

Exactly. Integrity is applying the same set of values in every context and situation.

Perhaps you mean very narrowly educated. In any case, for me, embarassing.

Well, based on his behaviour I doubt it.

I recall a classmate of mine who was a manipulative sociopathic cocaine snorting druken philandering douchbag. There's one in every group, even if they have an MD behind their name.

I remember the original thread. While you did get burned, you lost no money. Doesn't make it right--but it was a valuable lesson about the personal character of an individual. Learned cheaply. Note: Sometimes these kind of character lessons can be very expensive.

Sadly, not on a turbo (or GT2/GT3). Remember, those engines have more in common with our boat-anchor air cooleds than those oh-so modern M96's.

My funny-ism when I saw whoever posted about the other Dr. handing over the GT3 seats with no cash readily available, was my '79SC that arrived from its heart surgeon owner on my doorstep with title signed off.............and a comment that I could pay him the $5K whenever I had the money. (Now, this was a neighbor, and he wanted to see the car restored; but that car was the smoking deal of a lifetime in a day when even a beater SC was bringing $10K.)

Sorry to hear about the lousy deal Mark. This certainly isn't within the norms nor the spirit of RL in general and certainly not the 993 board which is pretty tight. Glad you didn't have any money tied up with this guy at least. Sadly, the medical profession is not immune from underhanded dealings and greedy SOBs.

Hope all is well. Thanks for sharing the experience.

Hi Mark - Sorry if what I posted was unclear, but from what you posted I would have also thought you had a gentleman's agreement in principle with just a few small details to iron out. What I meant to post is that for some people, no deal is final unless it's on paper...sometimes even after money has changed hands.

Sorry, I was just agreeing with you, too.

If you agree to a price, even just verbally, it should be binding in the context of the spirit of this site. Not because of the "site," but because of it's members, all of us. It went well beyond the "will you take 'x' exploratory stage.

He probably won't care one iota, but I also think a ban is in order. If he carries himself in his personal life like that, he's the kind of doctor we'll read about in the newspaper one day, and I don't think it will be something good.
