Pros: shifting will improve and less driveline lash (wind up of the engine twisting in the chassis)
Cons: You may hear the A/C kicking in and out...more so in around town stop and go traffic

I think they may improve handling. Imagine the lag in the motor shifting around on bad stock mounts versus no lag in weight shift of solid/RS mounts. It's probably not as noticeable as removing the rubber in the suspension but I think it all adds up.
Oh yeah, shifting is much more precise and IIRC I noticed that right off the bat.

Keep in mind that most of you are comparing new, solid mounts to old, tired stock mounts. A better comparison would be new stock vs. new solid - the difference of which is likely to be a bit less dramatic. Bruce is right though that it's mostly about driveline lash and IMHO the difference is likely to be minimal except perhaps for track use where these types of minor improvements can add up to produce real benefits.

Burning Brakes
I just installed my home made mounts this Friday and had my first track day on Sunday. I love the new feel of the shifter and the clutch. Plus the engine has more of mechanical sound now that I originally thought the car was lacking. Of course, my stock mounts were shot so any improvement would have made a difference.
If you have the money, the WEVO mounts are beuatiful pieces of art and would have been my first choice.
