Default Engine dies at stop lights

I did a search but nothing really matches whats going on. Also, lately the car is not being driven regularly. New battery installed 2 weeks ago. The car idles fine and runs up thru the gears fine. But when coming to a stop sign the engine rpm's will drop to the bottom and the engine dies with all dash lights coming on. I can restart the car and rev it fine, pull off the road and it idles fine.
I open the deck lid and I can smell a faint smell on passenger side of plastic burning as well. Engine was at operating temp .

Sometimes a new battery - or disconnecting the battery- will require the DME to need to readjust. I find that it goes away after 100 miles or so. That may be your issue.

I believe Patrick is correct. I had the same problem- just drove it and it 'fixed itself'.
