Rabbit Hash, KY A 993 Pictorial
Well I had the day off and so did Jhummel68 so we decided to head toward Cincinnati on the back roads to Rabbit Hash, KY and the infamous Rabbit Hash General Store. This is a popular destination for bikers and car guys through the Summer months. This is the real deal built back in the 1800's and it hasn't changed much. There is a second building to the store where you go in and pick out what you need and take it ascross the street to pay for it. It is right on the river and just a place that is stuck in time. Enjoy the pics.

Here we are gassing up getting ready for the sprited drive down US 42. It runs the length of the Ohio River. Great scenes and a twisty road in places.
Jhummel68's beautiful Slate Gray coupe (Winter wheels already installed)
We finally reached the destination and here is the sign you are greeted with. What a piece of Americana. This place is cool.
Here is my Rivi Blue Cab parked in front of the store
Rabbit Hash is a very small town Pop. 40 and the buildings are stuck in time.
Here we are gettin' gas in the Hash. Hi test please.
Here is another pic of the car in front of an old building
After taking some pics and exploring outside we walked in the store and it too hasn't changed in 100+ years. When we got there the clerk was hauling in firewood to put in the stove. That's the way the building is heated. Pretty cool, a step back in time. Here are some pics of the store.

A fitting sign for our bestest buddy and birthday boy, MOFFAT.
Before we left I had to use the facilities. Hmmmmmmm....... Bucks and Does. Actually they were very clean. the outhouse guy just got done cleaning them.
On our way home we stopped at a famous Kentucky State Park for a few pics. I don't come up with the names I just take the shots. Another tribute to MOFFAT.
I am sure jhummel68 will post his shots. This place is great and close to Cincinnati. A good drive and a lot of fun.

Awesome pics! Looks like a cool place to visit. I'm not too far from Cincy, I might have to add that on my list.
Jhummel already has winter wheels on his ride? Seems a little early right?

He's prepping for an early frost I guess.
The lady at the counter was cool as it gets. She was putting up some stuff at the other end of the store and told me to just leave the money on the counter for the Hershey Bar. As far as Moffat is concerned, if you dish it out......
You must add it to the list. A very cool place right on the river. Laid back, A biq BBQ cooker rolling on the Summer weekends, picnic tables, cold beer, nice cars and bikes + friendly people. What else do you need for a day trip? Plus from Louisville you go through a number of small river towns along the way. A real historic drive with lots of old Southern plantation homes.

That was a great run this morning. It was a last minute thing but it would have been nice to have other R-listers join us, We need to do something like this again. Mark, I take the Sport Classics off for the winter. I don't drive in the snow but I will probably drive while there are cinders on the road and don't want to mess up the good rims.
The place is right on the river and occasionally sees river waters up to the door. The lady tending the store said it is chained down so it won't float away. Simple solution.
Here is a shot of mine in front of the store.
Except there was a cat inside...
Gassed up and ready to head out.
Mike's at the store

Pomade Vendor: I can get the part from Bristol. It'll take two weeks, here's your pomade.
Ulysses Everett McGill: Two weeks? That don't do me no good.
Pomade Vendor: Nearest Ford auto man's Bristol.
Ulysses Everett McGill: Hold on, I don't want this pomade. I want Dapper Dan.
Pomade Vendor: I don't carry Dapper Dan, I carry Fop.
Ulysses Everett McGill: Well, I don't want Fop, goddamn it! I'm a Dapper Dan man!
Pomade Vendor: Watch your language, young feller, this is a public market. Now if you want Dapper Dan, I can order it for you, have it in a couple of weeks.
Ulysses Everett McGill: Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity. Two weeks from everywhere!
