I read this thread a couple hours ago and I've been thinkin about it off n' on ever since---- Nope, can't come up with a single reason.

Enjoy the hunt, and then those first drives and trips at 1AM out to the garage to revel in everything 993. And be sure to post up pics, damnit

If it's a C2S then I'm pretty sure it should be ocean blue unless it was 'paint to sample'.

If it's midnight, perhaps the whole car was repainted due to a wreck (or it's not a real C2S)...and there's your reason not to buy.

If it's ocean, then grab it....

1. They are way too sexy.
2. They are rare and to people who are clueless they look like the 997's
3. Best car ever made.

Once you purchase it there is no room to upgrade, so you will be down grading for the rest of your life.

Went through a similar situation where money wasnt an issue since I had done well in the stock market. So I took part of the profits and instead of buying some crappy blue chips I bought a silver/black cabrio, put on some Techart stuff on it and everytime I look at it I just smile. Two weeks after I paid for it, an expat from Costa Rica came and told me he wanted my car and he would pay a premium price. I said no.
My advice: Go buy it, you can always sell it back (if you dare). The best thing of this toys is that they maintain their value while you enjoy every freaking minute out of it.
Pics plase.

Remember the first time you had sex? Well, buying a Porsche, particularly a 911, specifically a 993, is a lot like that.

So, if you didn't like your first time and never tried it again, then by all means avoid buying this amazing car. Otherwise...go for it!!! Now!

993s are just Cool. I waited to buy one thinking, "When I get older I will get one" and then I almost died in an accident in July 2008. I started thinking "Life is too short". After my recovery I purchased my 993 several months ago and can only say "WOW"!! Best vehicle I have ever owned. 993s are like a legal drug. Every time I drive it I get high, high, high

Good point. Even 30 seconds spent in a 911 is fun.

Great list Louis.

Funny stuff.

Seriously, just do it. I was a perpetual car flipper. Then along came my first 993. Although I'm still constantly thinking about a change, it's always involving another 993. Pure magic.

You guys are great! Very encouraging .

I am a hands on kind of guy. When I was in college I restored a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 which me and my dad pulled out of a junkyard. This was the early 1990s mind you before the prices got crazy. Thats how my 1990 VW Golf keeps running . People are shocked when I tell them its 19 years old and keeps running . So I am not afraid of tools and getting down and dirty .

I am not afraid to do whats neccesary to keep it in great condition.

Somebody mentioned something called Pano? Is that the Porsche Panorama magazine?

Nike said it best---"Just do it." You will never regret it.

FWIW, get a 6-spd, unless you're dying to have a tiptronic, with as many of the mods you really really want already done. You will save a ton of money that way. Otherwise it's just color and body type. So many choices. What fun. I'd love to be in your shoes again.

We've had three 993's, and mark my words, there is going to be a #4 one day for me when the right one comes along and the economy keeps improving.

Seriously, 993's are the way to go, especially for a first Porsche. After that, if the Porsche bug bites, watch out. You'll be in trouble. Many models (and 993's) may follow.
