Lets assume Im running my car RS spec height with 235 18 front and 285 18 rear with an acceptable amount of camber for a fast road and occassional track car.

Assume fenders not rolled. Assume a dot rated tyre like Corsa or Pilot Cup.

If I want to have custom designed 8.5 front and 10.5 rear width rims and I can have any offset I wish but whant to maximise the asthetic appearance of the vehicle do you think the following will work in your opinion?

8.5 52
10.5 58

Or given im importing these from Germany and cant easily return them would I be better to go on the safe size and say:

8.5 56
10.5 58 or 60

I dont know what te exact flange thickness is but lets assume its not going to be far from what your diagrams indicate.

I have a pair of 5mm OEM factory spacers so Im wondering what the safest option is for me. I guess with the spacers I could always adjust the ET if need be for asthetic reasons assuming no rubbing (which I would like to achieve without rolling fenders if at all possible).

I value your input and experience on this so would be keen to hear your views and thanks you in advance....

Thanks
Back in post #2 I said
if I were to buy another set I would probably want 8.5ET56 and 10.5 ET70
That is where I am as of today though I still want to spend some more time noodling it and talking to a few more guys that have used different combinations.

jscotts post were eye opening because I never would have dreamed that the 996Cup 9 & 11 would be even close to fitting.

Hi Bill,

Nice diagram. What was the camber when the measurements were taken?

Thanks,
Pete
